Two articles provide an overview of research in application areas we have been focusing on as a group for sometime, Finance &amp; Economics (<a href=\"https:\/\/rdcu.be\/b4KkQ\">https:\/\/rdcu.be\/b4KkQ<\/a>), and Computational Creativity (<a href=\"https:\/\/rdcu.be\/b4KkT\">https:\/\/rdcu.be\/b4KkT<\/a>). The third article, \u201cAutomatic Programming: The Open Issue?\u201d (<a href=\"https:\/\/rdcu.be\/b4KkV\">https:\/\/rdcu.be\/b4KkV<\/a>) follows on from an article by O\u2019Neill et al that appeared in the 10th Anniversary issue highlighting Open Issues in the field of GP, and raises a challenge to the community to re-ignite a focus on Automatic Programming, the open issue, which we previously referred to as the \u201c<em>elephant in the room<\/em>\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"153\" height=\"232\" src=\"http:\/\/ncra.ucd.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-469\"\/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NCRA researchers (R\u00f3is\u00edn Loughran, Tony Brabazon and Michael O&#8217;Neill) have published three articles in the 20th Anniversary issue of the journal Genetic Programming &amp; Evolvable Machines.
